A Glitch in The System

A Glitch in The System

I used to work on cars. I thought I loved it at the time. I realized after a while that I hated it. I like saving the money. Don't get me wrong. I still will work on cars, but I will bitch about it.

Sometimes I chase down why things won't work. Sometimes I'm tired of that crap for the same reason I hate working on cars any more. I can do it, but it's going to take a long time.

Firefox flipped out on me yesterday and the day before. Try to log into to the Google toolbar and the whole thing would freeze. Uninstalled that and then the image uploader for Wordpress would cause it to freeze. After every freeze, my bookmark toolbar was blank. To reset this, I would just have to start Firefox up in Safe Mode and close the popup box. And when I started it regularly again, it was fine. But every half an hour.

So I went looking for answers and then another browser. Found Flock. Basically, Flock is Firefox with some extra built features. Every addon I used on Firefox worked on Flock, even though Flock's own addon directory doesn't list much. More developers that have compatible plugins should make sure they're listed there. Some won't work with Flock, but a lot will. The last time I opened Firefox, it installed an update. It crashed again later on.

Everything is over on Flock now, imported into it, since most of the addons I use have an import/export feature. But it took a while to set everything up. And that's why I've disappeared over the last few days and am now trying to catch up.

It still doesn't make sense to me why Firefox kept crashing because Flock uses more RAM and I am putting it through the same tests with the same addons. I am happy with Flock for now and don't want to spend any more time figuring out Firefox's whole issue. As long as things are working, I'm not askin'. This wasted enough time.

I am writing a review of TNX.net that I have been working on for a couple of days. This whole browser issue happened in the middle of it. So that should be coming up next here. I still am sorting things out, so that might not be until Monday. And that's the glitch. How one thing like this can set you up to play catch up for a little while. But I found addons like Browser Sync which will make next time a little better.
