This is what you should be doing.
Ignore the rest.
Of course, only if you are here for the same reason I am.
Did I just piss off some “natural and organic” internet denizens or what?
A note to them. The internet is made up of bits and bytes. There are people in behind them, but no matter how long you explore it, it is not going to be made out of granola and twigs.
Is this an explanation of why my posts have dropped off? Yes and no.
I am writing this one.
And making it very scannable.
And maybe going a bit overboard.
But here is what happened:
And, no, not everything is about making money. I have met a lot of cool people online. But at the end of the day, you need to pay the bills.
And if you want to write a post, do so and stop blocking your words before they are on the page. There is a fine balance between writing like no one will read the result and writing for audience. And I am not sure where that line really is, so you are better off to ignore it.
I know what all my my online will some of them go the bills.I dont mind with that ,so far my bills is only $20 for internet bill monthly “unlimited.”I make money with online about 20x bigger then it,No tax I pay yet so ,for all my money making effort daily online with SEO`s job I think that still worth of “profit for me

Nice blogs with established SE rankings and getting decent visitor amount can bring you some nice cash and can pay your bills. Works for me
Hi.
What makes me money? Now, its my visitors who click my ads. But it is just a little. Retailing domain names is also a kind of worth to try in making money online – there is a virtual real property in domains. But these are only my sideline now. I am still employed, and my employment gives me more money now.
Venturing in affiliate world is my way to make money over the internet.. Not much cost because all I have to do is setup a site, learn SEO, and there comes my earnings..
“I started confusing traffic with income.” – It is so easy to get caught on this one – although traffic does relate, margins and ratios do differ.
Nice blog btw will read!

Actually I really like this blog because there are many interesting informations for me, thanks Miller
I quite agree that you need to focus on what is making you the money, assuming that is your goal. The problem with most bloggers who think they will get into blogging for money, is they have absolutely no clue as how to do it and reject any notion that they need a business plan to be successful at it.
You did make one really really good point I want to second, don’t confuse traffic with income. Some of the most successful traffic bloggers can barely pay their hosting fees with what they make.

I think I could surprise even some alisters with the amount of money I can squeeze out of a little bit of traffic.
It’s true that you shouldn’t confuse traffic with income. But isn’t the whole idea to convert your traffic to generate income for you? It seems the traffic comes before the income.
I basically agree with this post. Except sometimes the things that don’t make money for you today will make money in the long run. Keeping an eye on your income potential seems important too.

Yes, very true.
Great, honest post. You’re right, traffic does not equal income unless you put your work into monetizing it that traffic. I too would like to learn the ideal balance between writing like no one will read it and writing for an audience. I haven’t yet.

Well making money online isn’t so simple, I think 90% of people trying to make money online are loosing money and helping the other 10% to profit from their loss.

Traffic = income? Sniff, sniff… I wish. I’ve been down that road too but now I know so very well that good traffic does not necessarily lead to good income.

What a great post. Short and to the point!
I so agree with you. One of the reasons I read your entire post was because I felt you were talking directly to me, and I think that’s important when you’re blogging.
Sometimes I read some other peoples’ blogs and within a couple sentences I’m already bored.
It’s so “staged”. I love the naturalness of your flow and that’s what I try to keep in mine too.
Great post!
Thanks Trini,
There are some posts on this blog that fall into that “staged” category though. Too much planning and editing kills the post. But I try to let it all hang out when I can.
wow…nice post with nice topics, thanks for sharing.

Its easy to think of traffic as income, but its not always the case unless you put work into monetizing it first
Is that granola? I love granola, I had a granola bar this morning lol. I want both traffic and income, mostly traffic because I want everyone to tell me if my info is of any use to them or not, and money because, well I need it.

OK, traffic doesn’t necessarily mean income. But it’s on your way to the income.
If you have traffic and you don’t have income, you are not doing something right.
Therefore, it’s not what you should be doing for money. It’s there, you just don’t know how to take it.
Excellent post. Thanks.
