We all know about shopping widgets: Auction Ads, Chitika, Widgetbucks. I had a couple on a few of my sites and took them off. They took up valuable screen space and gave me pennies a day. So why am I writing about a new shopping widget?

Because I think the creators of this widget have something. First, they own their own ecommerce business which gives them insight into buying activity. I run an ecommerce store at my day job and it has taught me more than any other business about the internet. Secondly, they are women, which gives them insight into shopping. Just joking, sort of. I don’t know if the movie, The Truman Show, portrays an accurate picture of what an average person would do if his whole life were filmed. I think the users of most social networks would not sail out in a boat to rip a hole in the horizon. They would eat it up.

That’s just the concept of a new site. It’s YouTube meets blogging. The twists on video aren’t over yet. Not by a long shot.

This looks pretty cool and like Microsoft can create something new for once. It looks like you can build a site with widgets and drop and drop not only the widgets but the relationships between widgets. If ruby is on rails, then visual studio is now on air.
