Narrowing Down My Networks

You see the WTFMO widget on the side of my blog. It’s a scam. For a while there I was signing up for everything like a maniac. Not that that is a bad thing. It is good to stake your claim on a few social networks. In fact, I have heard it said you should, before an imposter pops in and claims your username before you can get it. Not that anyone would want to impersonate me, but it’s a nice pipe dream.

The First Day

Okay, I think I am much more put together today. I meant to get a nap in all day yesterday after checking out the 4 block radius around my room. I put some pictures up in Flickr. It seems that there are as many cranes here as there are casinos.

I didn’t manage to take the nap until 5:30 in the evening. And I basically slept through until 4:30am today. But I am ready to go now. Sleep deprivation has a way of making a person edgy, unorganized, and a little bit moody. Not a good state.

Social Tools in My Toolbox

This is a incomplete, random list of tools I use with social networks. Not that I know what I am doing quite yet with social networks. It will take a while. I am just an app, software, and addon junky. So I look for software all the time and usually find something. Be sure and add your own in comments. I will probably try all of them.

First, I would like to invite all of you to Social Median, a different sort of network. It works like Digg, because stories can be "clipped" and commented on. It works like FriendFeed because you follow other "News Makers" and has groups. And it’s new and for some reason I can’t stay away.

Max Out Your Friends at Swurl

I sign up for about everything just to see what it’s like, which is why you might see me in a lot of different places. I like playing with concepts and new things. So if you messaged me or friended me and I haven’t done it yet, I will eventually. All of these type email notices get filtered into one email folder called "Friends" and then I go through and reciprocate a few times a week.

Mobile Web On A Budget

Virgin Mobile Kyocera WildcardI probably spend less than an hour a month on the cell phone. Talking, that is. Plus I usually just listen and say things like
"OK" and "Uh-huh" and on long phone calls I create these sweet doodles that I can never recreate at any other time. It is a tool to keep in contact with my wife and family. For anyone else, they can wait until I am near a land line because most of the time they are in close proximity.

I don’t really speak that much at all. I am comfortable with that most of the time.
