Google Plus vs. Facebook: Who Will Win In the Battle of Social Networking Sites?
Surely Facebook felt very little guilt when all of Myspace’s fans began ignoring their accounts and started networking by the thousands through Facebook instead, but I wonder how they will feel now that the tides have turned. Pretty soon Google may know exactly what it feels like when Google + takes the world by storm in the very near future. It should not come by surprise that Google is trying to hop on the social networking bandwagon again as they have tried in the past with platforms like Google Buzz and Google Friend Connect. But the new Google attempt at social networking has got a lot of features that it didn’t have before, and a lot of features that Facebook only wishes it could have.

It is hard enough to write at times and then you have to do all of the above also. Well, maybe not all of the above, but at least some of it. Unless, of course, you want to be your blog’s only subscriber.
I have finally made it to this point with Facebook. Nope, no convincing me otherwise. I get enough spam in my email to waste my time. And it’s like I wiretapped anyone who is my friend. I get instant updates on whatever they happen to be doing at the time. It’s what I always wanted. There used to be a phrase called "too much information".In an age where the amount of information we need to cram into our minds just to make it in this world in increasing daily, do I really need to keep tabs on what everyone is doing at this moment. Twitter this. "I am typing the letter I." "I am typing the letter A." I am typing the letter M."
blog.pmarca.com: Analyzing the Facebook Platform, three weeks in
Great post on what you can do with Facebook and what Facebook can do for you. I will be looking into more later, but there is more here than I could get by just glancing through the pages of Facebook for a few minutes.
I especially like the breakdown of all the tools available for developers. They really have their act together.
I can’t wait until people say, “MySpace, what’s that?”.
This idea is brilliant. The article says:
For instance, an online retailer could build a service in Facebook to let people recommend music or books to their friends, based on the relationships they’ve already established on the site.
I know so many people through social networks constantly struggling with how to make money online. Yet these same people are really a passionate about different and various websites and products. And this passion spread like a virus through the online community. Having companies approach users to make money by doing what they already do is a win, win situation.
Many new stories make it to the internet before the tv and these vigilant bloggers are starting to get their props. It’s time retail companies give props to what has too long been free advertising.
Yahoo courts Facebook to the tune of $1 billion
Facebook is in the advanced stages of talks with Yahoo over acquisition plans nearing $1 billion, but the deal is not done yet.
A billion. Yes, that is 1 and 9 zeroes. Jackpot for the Fackbook developers. Of course I know nothing about them. But this seems to be nothing in the internet world. Murdoch coming in and buying MySpace is nothing. These high dollar buying and selling of websites is common place or so it seems.
