Alexa, Close But No Cigar

If you only have one site that you can access the stats to, the recent Alexa change probably freaked you out. But I can tell you from running multiple sites, with stats on all of them that Alexa was wrong before. And guess what, Alexa is still wrong now.

In fact, if you advertise based on Alexa numbers, you are still shooting in the dark. All you have really done is given yourself a justification to throw away your money when you chose to.

The $7000 Show Must Go On Despite Alexa

In some freakish accident about 48 hours ago, the Alexa ranks were shuffled. As a result, my other blog now has a higher ranking with Alexa than this one.

I wondered how this would effect the Top 100 Make Money Online Blogs which Ryan Shamus painstakingly went through one by one and described recently. It’s well worth a look. As far as the list goes, I see a lot of same names, just in different places. I dropped about four places.

Also today would have been the day that Marcus Hochstadt’s Blog broke the Alexa 50,000 barrier. He was going to hold a contest to celebrate the occasion. Well, the contest is still on.

Long Tail Time Bombs

I knew I would have to explain this one today. If you noticed, I have a popular posts widget in the top right corner of this blog. This is based on Google Analytics stats. Well, today you may have noticed that one of those posts was the one about Rhianna being at the Smile Jamaica-Africa unite concert. I have a story about that. A really interesting one.

Nice Little Traffic Update

This is the best one so far. And I guess it should be that way. The current one should be the best. But I think by the time I write another one of these, I will have broken the top 100,000 in Alexa finally.

Quite a Traffic Spike

I guess Alexa has to catch up every one and while, not that I trust Alexa. It’s just nice to see the nice spike in the graph a few days after starting a new blog. I guess releasing a theme helps.
