SEOpivot – Find Hidden Keywords

I’ll have to admit that although I do target my SEO, I am not arrogant enough to assume that I know everything. A lot of the time I am blind to very profitable or high traffic keywords. This may be because I may be working with an unfamiliar niche. This may be because I have to remove my head from my ass.

Either way, it is good to have profitable keywords fall in your lap, although they don’t quite make it that far by themselves. Website statistics are a good tool to help you find profitable keywords that you can rank higher in the search engines for. I deal with sites where the keywords tracked by Google Analytics in a month number less that a hundred and sites where they number in the tens of thousands.

Where Did I Start Before SEOpivot?

Well I started with a set of numbers, a csv export of my Google Analytics keyword data and my current rank for those keywords using SEO Elite. For those I sites that I had eCommerce sales stats on, I could put a estimated monetary value of any movement in search engine rank per keyword. I through all of these numbers into a relational database and it let me sort by potential traffic and dollar value for a number one ranking in Google. And here are those numbers with some example values:

Current RankClick %%Traffic Increase for #1Increase If Average Monthly Sales is $100

310.12%35250.00%$35,250.00
410.07%60428.57%$60,428.57

So basically this started with data about the clickthrough rate in search engine results on average. So, on average, when people search for “seo software”, 42% click through the first link, 12% click on the second result and so on. I just took it a little further. What if I am at #15 and get 10 visits a month now. I may see 900 visitors from the same keyword a month if I can grab that #1 position. If I had ecommerce sales tracking and tracked $100 in sales from that keyword, I see see an amazing $9000 from a #1 rank.

Of course, this clickthrough rate varies and nothing about this formula was highly accurate, it did give me an idea on which keywords I found in my stats to target.

So How Does SEOpivot Do This Better?

Forget the chart and type in your url and SEOpivot will come back with keywords that could mean a huge increase in traffic if you could move your ranking for them closer to #1 in Google. Not all keywords are created equally. Winning #1 rank for a keyword in Google can mean thousands of extras visitors or thousands of dollars in sales each month. But you have to know which keywords have that type of potential.

That is exactly what SEOPivot does for you. Here is an example of some of the keywords it uncovered here at my blog:

What I have laid out for me here is the keyword I rank for, the potential traffic if I get to #1, my current position for that keyword, the average monthly traffic for that keyword and the url that ranks. It is telling me that these keywords here could result in 14000 more visitors. Just to give you an idea, my report had 5 times as many keywords. I didn’t post them all here because some were some real gems.

Try it out. They will show you 5 keywords for free. And for $13, you can run up to 100 queries in a day. Maybe the real question is “How Many $1000/month keywords is your $13 hiding.
